Jo Chen Art Book (Limited Edition) Now Available!

A beautiful, limited edition book of many of my cover illustrations is now available. The book measures 8.5" x 11.75" and contains approximately 140 pages of high quality reproductions of my cover paintings, bound in a powerfoil cover. I oversaw the printing and it looks great. Text is Chinese.

Only 1,500 were printed and are not available at this time through any retailer or distributor. Just me.

The book is priced at $45 plus shipping and handling. A deluxe book package is also available that includes a custom made carry case, a sketchbook and a set of postcards with my art, priced at only $65 plus shipping and handling.

Jo Chen at Katsucon 16, Feb. 12-14 in National Harbor, MD

Come to meet me at Katsucon 16 from February 12 - 14 at the Gaylord National Hotel & Convention Center on the Potomac in MD (just outside of Washington, D.C.).

I'll be there with bells on to meet you, to chat artwork and the comics and video game industries and to review portfoloios. I will also have plenty of copies of my new limited edition art book, posters and prints, and all the goodies I usually have with me.

Princess Leia Con Sketch 2009

Here is a con piece that I did for John Higashi. John is a big Star Wars fan and asked for a Leia piece that I think turned out rather well. I normally don't do con sketches because I have a tendency to spend lots of time doing them (I can't just seem to whip out quickies) but I wanted to make this a nice piece for John.

Jo Chen at Anime USA 2009 in Crystal City, VA on November 21 and 22

I look forward to seeing yous guys during my annual guest appearance at Anime USA 2009 in Crystal City, VA on November 21 and 22 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

As always, I'll be there shaking more hands than a politician, signing just about whatever you put in front of me and looking at portfolios.

Also, as always, I'm not sure where my table is located but I'm sure to be listed on the program.

I'll have Darkstalkers and Street Fighter prints and posters, Buffy, New Avengers and Runaways stuff, copies of "The Other Side of the Mirror" and more!

Jo Chen guest at Baltimore Comic Con 2009, Oct. 10-11 in Baltimore, MD

I will be a guest at Baltimre Comic Con 2009 in Baltimore, MD from October 10 thru 11 at the Baltimore Convention Center.

I am there to meet, sign prints and books, and, if time and line permit, to look over portfolios and perform a few commission sketches.

Not sure where my table will be but check your program upon arrival and stop by to say hi. I may also be doing a signing at the Dark Horse booth where Scott Allie will be in supreme command!

I'll have Buffy prints, Street Fighter prints, Darkstalkers prints and more! I will also be signing copies of individual comic book issues of my work for $2-$3 and donating proceeds to the Hero Initiative, a most worthy cause for artists in need of a helping hand.

Be there or be square.

Retreat - Buffy Season 8 tpb and my departure from Buffy

Some folks have written to me regarding concerns that I've left the Buffy series as the cover artist. Not so! I'm still onboard. I did have to take off a few issues for personal reasons but I'm back and in fact have already completed 4 new covers!

I'm unsure how these things get started but it most likely stems from a simple misunderstanding or misreading of some statement or other.

Now that that is settled, here is a larger image of my cover illustration for Retreat, the most recent Buffy Season 8 tpb, from none other than Jane Espenson.

Jo Chen Signing at Collector's Corner in Baltimore, MD on Free Comic Book Day

Jo Chen will appear at Collector's Corner, during its Free Comic Book Day event on May 2. The celebration runs from 9AM - 5PM and there will be food, games, costumed super heroes and best of all free comic books! A great time for the whole family.

Jo will be there to meet readers and sign. She will also have merch for sale, including art prints and maybe some sketchbooks and doujin..

Come out and support FCBD and your neighborhood comic book shops where ever you are. And if you're in Baltimore on May 2, stop in and meet Jo Chen, one of many artists to appear on May 2 at Collector's Corner, named Baltimore's 'Best Comic Book Store" in 2008!
